• Energy Savings with WIM

Reduce temperature and maintain production speed

    Rule of Thumb

Based on a 1996 energy study by a major North American steel mill. Total the volume in gallons of your rinse and pickle tanks and multiply that by $1.50. This estimates the energy dollars saved at the minimum temperature reduction of 5° F using a Naxid additive. two pickle lines total 255,000 gallons of solution x $1.50 = $382,500 estimated annual energy savings. Since 1996 energy costs have changed so this estimate may be low.

Steel mills pickling over 2 million tons per year can save upwards of $400,000 per year. in pickling energy cost at the minimum 5° F reduction in temperature with no sacrifice in production speed using a WIM Naxid Additive in their pickle line.
