WIM 2X

WIM 3X

WIM 2X is a pickling acid additive for either sulfuric or hydrochloric acid. It is a balanced formulation of inhibitors, foaming agents and surface conditioning chemicals, or depolarizers. This special combination of chemicals is blended to give adequate inhibition for a wide variety of pickling applications. Some of these include rod and wire, pipe, sheet goods, castings and hot dip galvanizing.

The unique blend of inhibitors, depolarizers and foaming agents in a single product gives you greater control over the pickling process. This is often noticed by the ability to pickle hard to remove scale faster or easier. Or simply a cleaner smoother pickle which readily takes other coatings such as zinc phosphates or hot dip and electro- galvanize.

You will notice that often you are able to pickle away scale at a better or faster rate. This is an indication of your being able to use a weaker acid or cooler temperature. Others will use these features to extend the life of their pickle tank, some up to 30%.

WIM 3X is a pickling acid additive for either sulfuric or muriatic acid. Its special formulation of inhibitors, foaming agents and surface conditioning chemicals is blended to offset sluggish recovered pickling acid. It works well in either sulfuric or hydrochloric acid.

The blend of inhibitors, depolarizers and foaming agents in a single product eliminates the need to add an inhibitor, then add an accelerating agent. Recovered acid regains its ability to pickle hard to remove oxides even in the presence of moderate to high iron concentrations. Your cost to add additives is not doubled since both the inhibitor and surface conditioners are in one simple, easy to add product.

Once the WIM 3X is added you will see an improved pickle. The surface may seem brighter or smoother, scale free, and easily rinsed. Pickling temperatures might be reduced or less acid will need to be added, even though the iron is high. Pickling in cycle may start sooner with less of a delay waiting for the pickle to reach temperature. You will notice that often you are able to pickle away scale at a better or faster rate. You will gain better control over your pickling operation; how you pickle, how much acid you want to use, how much energy you require, how long between dumps or recovery cycles. Choices which are based on your operating conditions.

WIM 76

WIM 76 acid additive is a liquid additive which can be used effectively in a variety of pickling situations. It is a good choice when pickling in hydrochloric or muriatic acid and in sulfuric when pickling prior to hot dip galvanizing.

WIM 76 is a balanced formulation containing surface conditioning additives, an excellent wetting system and inhibiting compounds. This combination will pickle scale away faster, with a finer etch on the steel surface. The wetting system generates a tight long lasting foam blanket to control fumes, while the surface conditioners work to develop a brighter, cleaner surface, leaving less residuals on the steel.

When WIM 76 is used for hot dip galvanizing, the pickled steel is cleaner, and the surface is better prepared to react with the flux and molten zinc producing a tighter, more ductile protective hot dip coating. When using WIM 76 for hot dip galvanizing experience has shown it is better to use it in combination with WIM 67 . Complete details are covered in the PGF process for Hot Dip Galvanizing.

WIM 3-21

WIM 3-21 is a general pickling inhibitor for sulfuric or hydrochloric acid. It differs from other WIM additives in that it does not use surface conditioning chemicals, or depolarizers. Its added reliance on inhibiting agents assures maximum protection of the pickled surface. It can be used in a broad range of pickling applications such as; rod and wire, bar, pipe, sheet, structural, castings, plating and galvanizing to name a few. Acid usage is controlled as overpickling or burning is easily prevented. You will get a clean, free rinsing surface which is ready for subsequent coatingsve in hydrochloric acid.

Recommended Usage

Sulfuric Acid

1/4 to 1/2% of the acid weight for charging and to maintain the acid concentration.

1/4% is 0.0042% of the acid volume.....2 quarts for every 120 gallons of sulfuric acid.....1.9 L per 454 L of sulfuric acid

1/2% is 0.0083% of the acid volume...1 gallon for every 120 gallons of sulfuric acid....3.8 L per 454 L of sulfuric acid.

Hydrochloric or Muriatic Acid

0.1 to 0.3% of the HCl acid volume to charge and maintain the acid concentration.

Tip

Add the WIM Acid Additives every time you add new acid to your system and don't forget the new acid added to your acid recovery system
